Design of lightweight VTOL plane from carbon fibre

Donation protected
New and innovative traffic concepts are increasingly gaining attention from researchers, politicians and the public. Among these new concepts are electromobility, autonomous driving as well as urban air mobility that are said to shape our future world, cause efficiency gains and foster sustainability.

This project focuses on the latter: New concepts in air mobility. Special focus lies on the improvement of the current concept of a quadrocopter in terms of flight range, flexibility and highly efficient cargo transportation. Our project team, named Wing Aux, consists of six Industrial Engineering students from Augsburg University (Germany) that try to establish an innovative concept for air mobility in the sense of an extensive case study. The aim is to design and construct a prototype of a lightweight vertical take-off and landing plane made from carbon fibre composite and develop a corresponding business plan.

Funds will be needed to acquire costly electronics, help promote our project and cover unforeseeable costs, e.g. in case of problems during testing that cause repair or rework efforts.

We would be very happy and grateful if you choose to support our project and help further our research work.

Best regards and many thanks from Augsburg,

Melike, Julia, Bene, Marius, Konny and Simon
