Design Tech High School Nepal Trip 2024
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Maya and I’m a Junior at Design Tech High School. In Winter of this year, I am set to go on a trip to Nepal with eight other students. We’ve been working hard for many months fundraising, coming closer as a team, and educating ourselves on regenerative and ethical travel practices that we hope to implement while in Nepal. During the trip, we will be staying at ashrams, a monastery, and home stays with families from a high school in Nepal. As a group, we want to focus on building lasting connections with each other and with people in Nepal, and gathering as much knowledge as we can while we’re there to bring home with us. But each student also has individual passions that they wish to explore while we’re there. My passion project focuses on Nepalese art and how it is influenced by things like nature and spirituality.
I will be presenting my project in the form of a journal with entries about pieces of art that I encounter, photos, and drawings of what I see. In this journal I will also include non-art related things about my life in Nepal as a traveler. I will be giving back to those who donated by sharing a digital version of my travel journal so that you can be informed about my trip and have proof that your donation was much appreciated!
It would mean so much to me and our team if you could donate what you can, or let others know about this student-led project. By supporting this trip, you are supporting the D.Tech travel program, making more trips like this possible for future students.
