Desmonaye Brown-Future Pharmacist

Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss something important with all of you. As you know, my daughter Desmonaye is deeply passionate about pursuing a career in pharmacy, and has been diligently working towards this goal. She is already working towards this goal by becoming a Pharmacy Operations Manager for Walgreens. She has had the opportunity to work at various locations including taking part as a Coach to train technicians for an acquisition of Berkshire pharmacies in Texas.

Desmonaye is excited about pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy. However, before she can be considered for admission this Fall at Howard University College of Pharmacy, she needs to complete two prerequisite courses. Specifically Medical Biochemistry and Calculus I. After researching various options, she has found that she can take these courses online at the University of California, Berkley Extension. She is aiming to be registered for both courses by the end of April 2024, as she is scheduled to attend a Preview Day/

Campus tour on the 5th of April and an Interview with the Admissions Committee on Sat, April 20th.

The total cost for both courses is $2400, followed by an enrollment fee of $300 and a Good Faith fee of $700. The total out-of-pocket costs for her exceeds $3,000. Unfortunately, this is a significant financial burden for her to bear on her own. That’s why myself and the family are reaching out to all of you for assistance on her behalf. We understand that times may be tough, but we truly believe that investing in these courses is an investment in her future and will ultimately allow Desmonaye to achieve her dream of becoming a pharmacist.

Desmonaye is committed to working hard and making the most of this opportunity, but she is in need of everyone’s support to make it happen. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to her and bring her one step closer to reaching her goal.
