Desmond Support

Hi Im Annie, a Single Mother to 5 year old Desmond and 3 beautiful girls. On Christmas Morning Of 2023 when I went to wake him up he was cold, blue and unresponsive. 

Our world was completely flipped upside down as we lived in the hospital for the next 115 days as Desmond fought off heart, liver, & kidney failure, a collapsed lung and sepsis due to a rare and aggressive form of Lymphatic Cancer. He had to relearn how to walk, talk, and eat again after having to stay in a sedated state to allow his body to heal for 15 days. 

Paricardial Lymphangioma. This condition inappropriately drains lymphatic fluid into the space around his heart and lungs compressing them and making basic functions extremely difficult. 

We are now home but his battle is far from over and will more than likely be life long. 

His medication is not approved for his specific condition as there are only 35 other known cases in the world! We’ve worked around several insurances but with just copays it still costs me roughly 6,500$ a month to cover the cost of his medical supplies and life saving medication. 

I’m not one to ever give myself permission to ask for help, but with one income and no other financial support Im no longer able to afford it and I’m scared.
