Desperate and starving; Koh Samui, Thailand

Donation protected
On the island of Koh Samui, Thailand many people are desperate for food and clean drinking water. Thailand is a country that’s economy is dependent on tourism. Because of the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic people are out of work and have no way to provide basic needs for themselves and families.
There are many migrant workers from Myanmar who are now stranded in Burmese work camps. The construction companies that brought them here have shut down and refuse to pay these workers. At these camps there are children and babies who are suffering and dying from malnutrition.
Hi my name is Lilly Hubbard and I have been living in Koh Samui for the last 7 years with my husband Wat, who is Thai. Wat and I distributed 100 packages of dried food from our restaurant and within 10 minutes we ran out of packages. When we told the people that we had no more food to give out many started crying. We ended up giving a small donation of money to each person remaining so they would be able to buy food for that day.
Looking into the eyes of these people with their small children deeply moved me and my husband to want to do more for our community. Wat and I would like to distribute food from our restaurant, 2 or 3 per week until the situation gets better. This is why I have started this project. On our own we can only do so much but with your help many lives will be saved in Thailand.
