Update on the search for a new home for 350 dogs

My name is Joe and I am writing to give you an update on the status of the move of the Hope for Strays Foundation from Pattaya. The Hope for Strays Foundation, a fully registered non-profit organization located outside the city of Pattaya in Thailand, has received devastating news. They operate a shelter that currently houses over 350 dogs. The landowner has informed them that they must vacate the property by the end of March, this year. Without a new shelter, these innocent lives will be left without a safe haven.
After many months of searching they have finally located some suitable land and started construction. This has been a painful process as every time there was a promising site identified it was blocked by local residents or usually by local government officials. The land being used is in North-Central Thailand. This lacks many of the services needed to operate the shelter. It also lacks tourists, who have made up a significant portion of the Foundation’s income, in the Pattaya area. At this point about half the dogs in the existing shelter have been moved to the new area and they have demolished a large part of the shelter in Pattaya.
Hope for Strays has dedicated itself to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs in Thailand for almost 15 years with the shelter being in operation for the last 7 years. Their mission has always been to give the dogs the love, care, and second chances they deserve. It is heart breaking to think of the uncertain future these dogs face if we cannot secure a new shelter for them. While land has been found and construction started there is still A desperate need of financial assistance to construct the new shelter
Your generous donation will directly contribute to:
1. Shelter construction: Building a new facility with appropriate enclosures, comfortable living spaces, proper ventilation, and essential amenities to cater to the unique needs of the rescues.
2. Providing the necessary utilities, power and water, required to operate the facilities.
3. Demolition of the existing shelter to meet landowner requirements of returning the land to its original condition.
We cannot emphasize enough the urgency of this situation. It will take time to build new shelter and demolish the old shelter as well as transfer the Foundation registration.
These innocent lives are depending on our collective efforts to provide them with a secure and comfortable environment. No dog should be left behind or forced to suffer due to circumstances beyond their control.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in Hope for Strays’ ability to save these dogs and give them a chance at a better life. We kindly request that you open your heart and donate to this cause. Together, we can create a brighter future for these furry souls who have already endured so much hardship.
