Financial Help Needed for the Drost Family
Donation protected
Russell Drost was diagnosed with leukemia in 1990 had a successful bone marrow transplant in 1992. In August of 2021, Russell was diagnosed with MDS Myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood cancer (which affects the red blood cells). In January of this year, he was taken by to the hospital by ambulance and was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. He spent three weeks there. Russ has not been able to work since August 2021, and will not be able to return to work. He needs weekly transfusions of blood.
Russ is very weak and has to use a wheel chair when he goes anywhere. He has now been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has heart failure. He also needs monthly IGG treatments which are needed for antibodies.
His wife, Dawn, has been his primary care giver. She is currently working two jobs to help pay the bills and for medications to keep Russ alive. Many of the medications are not available generically and cost between $400-$800 a month. His insurance does not cover all of the expenses, and the family is struggling to make ends meet. Both Russ and Dawn are in their 60's and this has been very difficult on both of them emotionally and physically. The family needs our support.
Update: It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Russell Drost, 12-9-2023. Keep the Drost Family in your thoughts and prayers. This fund now be for funeral expenses.
