Desperate Need for Food in Rwanda

Donation protected
My name is Jean Pierre (“JP”) Ndikumana. I'm a Rwandan and live in Rwanda. During my service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission, I was a trainee, a trainer, district leader, and a zone leader. When I returned home to Rwanda, I worked in a refugee camp and attended law school. Currently I am in my last year of law school and work part-time in a local NGO that provides wheelchairs for children. During the COVID-19 pandemic I have organized and managed projects that reach out to the most hungry and vulnerable families and individuals to provide food.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had many consequences: the loss of many lives and destruction of the Rwandan economy, which has caused many families to go hungry, especially the most vulnerable ones, including single mothers with children. Because Rwanda is a land-locked country and its borders have been closed during the pandemic, many families have suffered greatly without the food security enjoyed in other countries.

What can you do to help them? A donation of $30 can help feed one family for two weeks and buy a few school supplies for a student. Our goal is to help more families and school-aged children to lessen their burdens. Let’s join hands to save our starving brothers and sisters in Rwanda!
