Single mom's cancer treatment fund

Donation protected
I hesitate in setting up this fund because if you personally know Miss Dessa Dille-Waldo, you would know she does not like to be at the center of attention and is the hardest working single mom of two you will find with the most positive and upbeat personality.  Always a "giver" never a "taker" but with this being said her closest friends know she could use the support and prayers of those around her the most right now.

Dessa has battled a genetic disease called Familial adenomatous polyposis since 1997 which is a rare, inherited condition that causes extra tissue (polyps) to form in your large intestine and in the upper part of your small intestine (duodenum) almost always become cancerous by age 40.  She underwent surgery to
remove the upper part of the large intestine (colon) to prevent cancer. The polyps in the duodenum can also develop cancer, but they can usually be managed by removing them regularly with scopes every 3 months.

Not only did Dessa's beloved mother pass away from Colon Cancer but both of her daughters have this genetic mutation with her oldest daughter having her first surgery at 8 years old and a second surgery for a desmoid tumor at just 10 years old.  Her final set of reconstructive surgery just completed at 21 years of age. Her youngest daughter has been having yearly colonoscopies since she too was 8 years old.  She will eventually require the same surgery as her sister and mother.

Just when you think all of this was just too much to handle for a single mom of 2...  just 2 weeks ago she was given the diagnosis of Epithelial ovarian cancer requiring surgery and a minimum of three rounds of chemotherapy.

Her spirits continue to be positive and not one time has she asked anyone for anything!  She continues to be the best of friend to so many others and it is through this site we hope to make a difference in her life in making a small monetary donation to help while she is off work recovering from side effects of chemotherapy and and any co-pay's associated with these treatments.

Friends and family will keep everyone updated as we plan a few fun and energizing events for our friend... maybe even a "hat party"!

Thank you for the continued support and prayers.
