ABC 7: LA Parking Program Seeks to Provide Safety to Homeless People Sleeping in Cars
The latest figures in L.A. County show more than 16,500 people live in their vehicles. This growing demographic of people (many of whom are working full-time jobs) not only face fines & penalties from the city, but also constant threats to their safety while living on the streets. Destination Hope provides a safe place for people to park & sleep at night during this transitional period: there's a restroom, security, and workers who can connect them with services to help find a more permanent home.
In addition to these services, our volunteers are committed to providing dinner for residents 5-7 days a week.
Anything counts, and everything helps. If you can't donate money but would like to donate your time, cooking, or have connections to food vendors that may be interested in donating, feel free to reach out below. Food donations are greatly appreciated!
