DESTINY COSELMAN
Destiny is our 18 yr old daughter . Destiny had a seizure on Friday Sept 9,2016. First seizure ever. She was taken by ambulance to Sparrow Hospital where they found a good size mass on her brain. The very next day Destiny had surgery on her brain to remove how ever much of the tumor they could get to. Since they weren't able to remove all of the tumor the next and only step they have to offer is chemo and radiation . Her actual diagnosis is grade IV Glioblastoma, the most aggressive brain cancer there is . Although Chemo and Radiation may extend her life her quality of life may suffer. We have looked into alternative methods and second opinions , and our best hope seems to lie at Duke University in North Carolina. We have to move fast and since we have spent the last week at the hospital her dad an I have not been working. We are trying to raise funds to help with our current bills but mostly for our trip to Duke next week . We have to find a place to stay for a couple of weeks until we can get Destiny under some type of solid care. Destiny just turned 18 in Feb, she has a smile that could light up a room, and is stronger than I am for sure. She has had her brain operated on and her pain scale has never been above a 6. She should be out with her friends and enjoying her senior year and being a teenager. With high spirits and such a positive attitude she is dealing with brain cancer instead. The options here as far as further treatment goes is UNACCEPTABLE to us . There are so many other options out there for her. We want to see our daughter graduate, and go to college, get married, and have children and that isn't an option for her if she stays here. We could use the help from anyone and everyone . We are not people who would under any other circumstances ask for help but this isn't about us it's about her and we need your help to get her the best care possible . Thank you for your time an every little bit counts .
