Detective Amber Leist Memorial Fund

On January 12, 2020 our lives were forever changed. While Amber was stopped at a red light, she saw an elderly woman crossing a crosswalk. The woman fell to the ground and Amber put her vehicle in park and proceeded to help the woman across the street to safety.  As Amber was returning to her car, she was fatally struck by a passing vehicle. 

Amber was a Los Angeles County Sheriff Detective who assisted a complete stranger and made the ultimate sacrifice with her act of kindness. Amber’s act of service is recognized as an on duty death.

She has left an impression on everyone who knew her. Her love, passion, talent and character will leave an impact on all of us. 

This account was started and will be handled by Amber’s sisters. The funds will go to her loving boys and family to help with whatever costs are needed. 

The majority of the donations will go directly to Amber’s immediate family. My wife Savannah (Amber’s Sister) and I will set up a bank account for our nephew. Any funds left over will be used to reimburse family or any other cost incurred from the funeral arrangements.
