Please help Det. Mike Rooney’s family while he is in the ICU

Hello, my name is Peter Schmitt and I am reaching out as the President of the Greenwich Police Silver Shield Association.

One of my officers, Detective 1st Grade Mike Rooney entered Yale New Haven hospital last week to have a tumor removed from his brain. Following the procedure Mike’s brain has unexpectedly endured a tremendous amount of swelling. He is currently in a coma and fighting the battle of his life. Mike is a warrior and will continue to fight.

Mike is a former United States Marine and a 21 year veteran of the Greenwich Police Department. He is currently assigned the Special Victims Section advocating for and investigating crimes against our most vulnerable population. Additionally, he has been assigned to the FBI task force targeting online sexual predators and violent crimes against children.

Mike has dedicated his life to helping others and now he is in desperate need of our assistance. All proceeds will be used to support Mike’s wife and two young children
