Detroit College Student Seeking Support After Tragic Crash

Hello, my name is Airiel Mitchell. I’m a college student currently enrolled at Wayne County Community College, majoring in nursing, and I also work full-time to support myself and my college career. Life has never been easy, but I’ve always found a way to push through, determined to build a better future.
However, my world was turned upside down on January 12th when I was involved in a devastating car accident that claimed the live of a young lady and left the rest of us fighting for our lives. Among the victims were my sisters and some friends. The pain I’m experiencing is something I’ve never experienced before, I can’t even begin to put into words, but this moment is going to haunt me every day. I was unconscious for six hours and with no one able to identify me.
I survived, but the journey ahead is overwhelming. I’ve sustained a face fracture, broken wrist , a broken and fractured leg along with having to get stitches in my face and reconnect my ear. This will require ongoing medical treatments, therapy, and equipment. Beyond the physical injuries, I’m also battling deep emotional wounds that will take years to heal.
This accident has not only left me brokenhearted but also buried under medical bills and the cost of therapy that I can’t manage on my own. As much as I hate to ask for help, I’m reaching out to my community and beyond, humbly seeking support to cover these expenses.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help me access the care I need to heal and get back to pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse and helping others.
If you can’t donate, I completely understand. Sharing this post or keeping me, my sisters, my friends and the family of the deceased in your prayers would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. From the bottom of my heart, I’m grateful for any support you can provide.
With love and gratitude,
Airiel Mitchell
