Detroit Lake Cabin
Donation protected
As most of you know, our family cabin that we have shared with many of you over the past 20+ years was burned down in the tragic wild fires in September of 2020. My parents bought this cabin with the dream of sharing it with their 3 sons, Jeremy, Clayton and myself and their future grandchildren and all of our friends and family. Over the years we worked on the cabin to make it better for our guests to enjoy and spend time with each other. Many of us grew up spending summers and holidays at the cabin making memories as well as creating traditions that we thought would happen forever. All of us were devastated when we learned the cabin did not make it through the fires, but none more than my parents who invested so much into the cabin for us to enjoy. They are now "old" and retired and do not have the money to rebuild to pass on the dream to us to continue to share with our friends and family. We learned that since our Cabin was from the Original Detroit city down in what is now the lake, we had no foundation under the cabin and the septic tank was homemade. Insurance does not cover these and Insurance gave my parents enough money to build a bareboned cabin with nothing left. Nothing inside, and no septic tank and foundation which are needed before building the cabin. They do not have the energy or money to make it happen. If we are able to come up with the money for the foundation and septic tank, they will be able to start moving on the dream rebuilding. All donations are appreciated and of course if the dream gets rebuilt, you have a place to stay to share the love we have for Detroit Lake in return for your support and donations. You will also get a vinyl sticker custom made by my wife Tracey Tasselli-Boyes.
