BackYard BBQ for the Homeless

THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY COUSINS FROM THE WARREN BALLENTINE SHOW FOR JOINING US TO FEED AND PROVIDE CRUCIAL SERVICES TO OVER 5,000 HOMELESS AND HUNGRY CITIZENS!!!

Did you know Detroit is home to over 20,000 homeless citizens?  The 6th Annual Detroit Red Carpet BackYard BBQ for the Homeless & Hungry will once again serve over 5,000 of Metro Detroit's most vulnerable homeless and low income residents on October 28, 2017 at Bert's Warehouse in the historic Eastern Market of Detroit.  Through partnership between the SHU Foundation, The Warren Ballentine Show, Radio One, Forgotten Harvest, Detroit Central City, Inc., GM Supplier Diversity, Dunamis Lighting & Abayomi Community Development Corporation, event participants can look forward to FREE delicious cooked meals, FREE grocery giveaways, FREE health screenings, human service agency vendors, live entertainment and performances and celebrity guest appearances! Homelessness and poverty is a serious issue in our community.  As the downtown Detroit area sees a great resurgence, we cannot forget about those residents that still have no place to lay their heads at night and no food to feed themselves or their families.  We believe that everyone deserves to experience being treated like a VIP! By giving a minimum of $10 dollars to this worthy cause you can be a part in making those who struggle with homelessness and poverty know just how meaningful they truly are!  We thank you in advance for your support!  A big thank you to Abayomi Community Development Corporation and its CEO, Tawnya Morris, for serving as our annual fund fiduciary and administrator!
