Devastating Flood Damage to Home
Donation protected
My siblings and I are raising money for the damages caused by the horrible flood in Houghton County, MI Sunday morning June 17th to our parent's home. The rains came so fast that the trails above their home overflowed with water and almost immediately started flooding our family home.
They were trapped upstairs for hours with our 3 youngest brothers and had to watch as the road and land gave way around them. In the early hours of the morning they were rescued via a fireman ladder that had to extend over the road (now a rushing river) and onto the roof.
They are all safe, thank God, but the damages caused to their home, their property, and their vehicle are devastating.
My parents have worked hard their whole lives and raised 9 kids. Our family home is a beacon of our family's togetherness and love and hard work. The front porch was built by my dad. The back deck was built by my sister. The rock walkway was created by me and my two brothers. The roof put on by my dad and brothers. The garden area an effort of friends and neighbors and family. All working together. Not to mention all of the homey items created by our loving mom. Curtains, wall hangings, photos hung, blankets sewn, walls painted and decorated. All gone.
This is not a cry for help about a structure. This is a cry for help to aid my parents in recreating a home for our family again.
Please help in any way you can, even if it is not financially, by please sharing our fundraising link to spread the word of our family's distress.
Thank you so much for reading and helping in any way possible.
Sincerely,
The LaCasse Kids
