Not only were my daughter Kira Burgess and her partner Joshua Carpenter evicted by the devasting floods in Vermont and now homeless, but they lost almost everything during the massive storms in VT this week. Their apartment was completely flooded, with two feet of dirty and polluted water in every room. Their furniture was warped and damaged from the high water. They have lost most of their clothing, and personal items. They also lost work boots, equipment and tools. Both have had to miss work for a whole week to clean up the soppy and miserable mess and empty their apartment. Kira was able to talk to Capstone, but has not received help yet. They both have steady jobs, but the loss of income for a whole week has added to their financial worries. They were able to stay with friends for some nights this past week, and spent two nights at an AirBnB to be able to drive back to Cambridge every day to sort through and then throw away most of their belongings.

They desperately need help as they have to start all over again and find a new place to live!
