Devastating House - Fire Castle Hills Forest

Castle Hills Forest residents, Ahmed and Lorena, have been a gift to this neighborhood and to San Antonio for many years. They volunteer on a regular basis preparing food, distributing it to the hungry, sorting clothes and helping with clothing distributions. If you are in need, they are the first to offer help. They are welcoming, generous, kind and friendly people.

Now they find themselves in a position of being the ones in need, so we are reaching out to you to ask for your help. Unfortunately Ahmed and Lorena had a devastating house fire on the morning of Saturday, June 6th. The fire department prevented it from being burned to the ground, but their home is a total loss and will have to be rebuilt. They have lost everything. What the fire did not burn, the smoke and water destroyed. Take a moment and look around your home. Then imagine all of it destroyed: clothing, photos, appliances, electronics, memorabilia, important documents, furniture... the list is endless. 

Although Ahmed and Lorena have faith that things will get better, this is an extremely challenging time for them. They are currently living in a hotel, waiting to hear back from their insurance company and realizing all the big and little things they have lost. Although we can't replace their sentimental belongings, our funds can help them with so many unexpected costs they are having at the moment.
