Injured Pensioner - Woolworths Accident
Donation protected
A few weeks ago, I had a terrible accident at my local Woolworths resulting in a horrific break to my wrist where I had to undergo painful surgery to repair my injury.
You may be reading my story after seeing an article published by Yahoo News outlining how Woolworths is denying any liability for my injuries https://au.news.yahoo.com/woolworths-denies-responsibility-after-pensioner-slips-in-aisle-and-shatters-wrist-015741659.html
While doing my usual shopping in the cleaning aisle, I slipped on a wet patch caused by cleaning solution that had been purposely sprayed on the floor by another customer but was undetectable to the eye.
There were no warning signs of the hazard on the floor, and before I knew it, I had fallen hard breaking my wrist in the process.
As an aged pensioner living in Western Australia, this injury has turned my life upside down. I’ve lost my independence, struggling with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and even basic self-care and am not mobile as now I cannot drive.
My medical expenses, therapy, and home assistance are more than I can afford, and unfortunately, Woolworths has told me they are not liable for my accident, leaving me to bear the financial burden alone where recovery will take years.
I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help, but I don’t have many other options. I’m reaching out to kind-hearted people for support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page.
Any help will go towards medical costs, home assistance, and making sure I can recover without worrying about how I’ll manage on my own.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story.
Every bit of support means the world to me.
