Grow the inaugural Rainbow Reserve in Arizona ψ

Donation protected
Heyo! My name is Max Dinovo Kozaczki, a proudly queer man, currently living in the Mid-Atlantic, by way of the Midwest. I want to build the first saguaro memorial forest in the Sonoran Desert. It will be dedicated solely to my queer community in hopes of immortalizing the LGBTQIA+'s impact on the world.

So, I excitedly announce that I will be erecting the Rainbow Reserve, an eco-burial saguaro forest that restores and conserves a large swath of the beautiful Southwest. I will create each living monument by burying an eco-urn containing the ashes and planting a new saguaro cactus atop. This particular cactus can live up to 150-175 years and can grow up to 50 feet, enabling my community to continue to do good even after our adventures end. Additionally, the removal or destruction of saguaros in Arizona is illegal, providing the Rainbow Reserve additional protection from any potential, future disturbances.

The Rainbow Reserve will provide completely free burials to anyone in the queer community. Truly, anyone who has identified as part of the LGBTQIA+++ is welcome to have their final resting place among our queer community conservation.

My first trip since the pandemic was to Tucson, Arizona where I experienced the stunning beauty of The Saguaro National Park for the first time.

After returning, that area was consistently on my mind. And during a joyful night of being heavily medicated with a particularly good strain of cannabis, I came up with the entire idea for this project. I was excited for the opportunity of conservation, immortalizing queer culture and knowledge, all while sticking it to the capitalistic & pollutive Death Industry Paradigm we suffer through today.

So after that fun night, I decided to buy a massive plot of virgin land in the Sonoran Desert between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. There I will design, develop and create the first saguaro memorial reserve. The saguaro cactus is the quintessential southwestern icon because the Sonoran Desert is the only place in the world where these amazing plants can grow.

This cactus can live up to 175 years and grow to 6 tons, only consuming ~10 inches of water per year. The Rainbow Reserve is specifically located in a region that naturally provides this water, with hopefully little need for artificial irrigation.

This is the condition of the current land proposed for the Rainbow Reserve. Two sides of the property is protected by State Trust Lands, so the Reserve will simply be expanding already conserved land.

And if for some reason you made it through all that - just a fun tip. 'Saguaro' is pronounced suh-waa'-row. Basically, the 'g' is silent

Bonus Points: donate a buck and I'll send you the strain name in the thank you message!
