Developing our garden and forest school area
Develop our outside forest school/classroom/garden area.
After many years of fundraising, September 2020 we moved out from our old premises (which has now been demolished) into a refurbished modular building.
When carrying out the ground works and rebuild, all our forest school and outside area had to be demolished or moved, and we need help to improve this much needed space! We have great plans to enhance the children’s learning and understanding of the natural world. By developing the forest school area into places where the children can develop their enquiry skills and can move forward on their journey of understanding as well as being a fun place to explore.
There is so much we would like to do to this valued and much needed space; from developing areas for children to learn how to build shelters, to teaching gardening skills and even how to recycle water!
We want to build small mazes, shelters as well as develop areas where the children can enjoy sitting around an area on natural logs, with hot chocolate for storytelling. Develop an area where the children can learn how to build shelters and further their understanding about natural materials and ‘bug’ environments.
We already have a mud kitchen and want to further develop areas where children can use natural materials to help develop their gross and fine motor skills. On our wish list is natural play equipment. Our thoughts are maybe a pirate ship or fort!
Some of our fences and play car track areas are in need of replacement/upgrading. These projects will cost in the regions of a total of £12,000- £15,000!
Please help us make a difference to the lives of those who we provide child care for. Its essential to their development both personally and socially. Thank you!
