Crowd Funding – Devil's Kitchen to open again!
It started as a dream - 3 enthusiastic entrepreneurs with one idea in common: “Barcelona needs an authentic German sausage!” For nearly two years we studied all the procedures needed to start up a restaurant in this city. Passing exams, signing papers, paying business fees, finding lawyers, engineers, accountants and insurance professionals - all leading up to the big “seal of approval” from Barcelona’s city council – allowing us to finally start searching for an actual location for our restaurant.
We have now been running Devil’s Kitchen successfully since 2009 in Barcelona. Our concept: Quality German grill, for an affordable price, served by a friendly staff in a warm atmosphere. We succeeded!
It did not stop there, as more and more Germans (and also customers from around the world!) continued to fill Devil’s Kitchen, we learned from them that there were more things they missed from back home. On top of that, we were faced with the pending 2010 World Cup. So we extended our concept to include other German specialties to the menu, such as Wiener Schnitzel, Schweinshaxe, Glühwein, Bretzels and even small things like Sauerkraut and Jägermeister made our clientele feel like they had a home away from home. We also installed a German satellite dish and big-screen video beamer, and soon earned the reputation of Barcelona’s best German sports bar and received 4 annual “Awards of Excellence” from Trip Advisor.
Now, because of our current success, we wish to expand and change our location. Our current location was in an “off the beaten path” section of Barcelona and our number one complaint has always been that Devil’s Kitchen was too hard to find. Plus we wish to find a location with a full liquor license so we may add cocktails and long-drinks to our menu. We are now backed by a new, talented chef from Germany, so we will also expand our menu. Our sales over the past 5 years have increased considerably, so we are certain that in a new location our sales will soar through the roof.
In our new restaurant we plan to offer a full menu with a wider variety: homemade Maultaschen and Spätzle (swabian specialties), Gulasch, Wiener Schnitzel not only on the weekends and much more. And of course a great variety of German beers!
Your support is greatly appreciated!

This new concept “grilled food on the go” is not to be missed! Delicious burgers, German Currywurst and other quality sausages – and more – are quickly grilled up right in front of you. Other specialties include: home-made Veggie-Burgers, grilled mushrooms with herbed-cream sauce, crispy “Devil Fries” and German beer. International ambience and great prices!

Being a German guy (or girl!) in Barcelona - do you ever miss Germany in a moment of weakness? Or you’re just living in Barcelona but you’ve actually been to Germany and you miss the particular atmosphere, the German beer and – ok, this is gonna sound weird – the German food? Or you have no idea what a German atmosphere looks like and you want to discover it without having to spend money and time to actually go the country? Don’t you worry, you’ll find some true Germans in Devil’s Kitchen Bar!
You’ll taste some delicious Currywurst (German sausages with tomato-currysauce), some special grilled sausages from Thüringen, the classic sauerkraut for the bravest of you all! Regarding the beers, it is only natural to get some true Germans beers, Becks for a more commercialised taste or Maisel’s for the real taste of Germany.
Ok but that doesn’t sound so special, you tell me. Just a minute, I’m coming to the interesting part.
Here is the thing, not only do we eat German and we drink German, but we also speak German and watch German games in German. German (I had to say one more time “German”). This is why this bar is really just a few more square meters that should be added to the German territory. It is authentic to the max and so you will feel totally at home here, every foreigner can tell their friends the day after: “I’ve been to Germany yesterday, ‘was fun!”
So whenever you Germans are in Barcelona (or anyone who appreciates a good Weissbeer) and are feeling homesick, or you have a craving for German food/beer/atmosphere/people, then run to Devil’s Kitchen.
