UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 14 FROM HIS MOM:
Update on Devin
12 days in ICU. 7 days off ICU n on the neurological floor.
456 hours all together.
My sonny is so close to being out of the danger zone.
His pneumonia is gone.
His jaw and his ankle are on their way to healing.
My son has Physical and Occupational therapy every day. When they ask him if he wants to keep going or end he always gives them . They are amazed at his strength n determination. I get concerned n want them to quit, but they told me it’s good for him to push himself. Still scary tho.
The Respiratory therapist works with him several times daily. Trying to get all the gunk out of his chest.
Due to his intensive brain trauma, his healing and recovery is going to take some time. The nurses and the neuro Dr are very pleased with his progress so far.
He does answer us with /☝✌
He gave his dad a when his dad told him the Chargers QB is the best. That was cool. Lol
He watches tv. He lets me know when he wants his glasses on or not
He is starting to move his arms and legs a lot more.
When I FaceTimed his brother Chad, Devin waved at his niece n nephew. That was awesome.
N he gives his siblings the ✌ when it’s time to hang up.
Lots n lots of sleeping.
He’s not so agitated any more. He’s not trying to grab tubes out anymore.
They are discussing about transferring him to North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital to get him started on his rehabilitation. Just waiting on approval n a bed I guess. N I’m gonna be right there with him, giving him my support and to make sure he knows he’s not alone.
Love you Devin, so very very much.

As many of you may know Devin was in a terrible car accident on the morning of August 26, 2022.
He was pinned under the vehicle he was driving and its believed he was there between 2-5 hours, it wasn't until a truck driver going by saw the wreck. At that time Police and EMS services were dispatched. It took them almost an hour to rescue Devin from the wreckage.
Devin suffered extensive brain trauma, chest trauma, and multiple broken bones throughout his body. Initial reports was that Devin was not going to survive the night and no resecitative measures could be performed due to chest injuries and injuries to the heart. Therefore family and friends were called in to visit with Devin a final time.
Here are words shared by his mom Davonica:
August 27, 2022 12:13pm
"Latest update after cat scan.
Hardly any bleeding in brain, very minor.
Little bit of swelling, but they are concerned with days 3-5 cuz that's when swelling gets worse.
His nerves in his brain are all jumbled all over, due to traumatic brain injury. It can heal on its own. It's a wait n see. But it’s not good.
Tonite n two days are very crucial.
If he makes it thru this crucial critical period, it can be 12 months before we know what he is capable of. As far as talking. Walking. Doing regular everyday things.
Plz keep praying."
Due to Devin's brain injury and being in a coma his family will need a lot of financial assistance for them to stay in Spokane and be close in the event that any emergencies arise. They will also need help with food, gas and any other expenses that will be incurred.
Devin is loved by many many people, his community, his powwow family, his basketball and school family. But most of all his Mom (Davonica) his dad (Travis) his brothers Chad, Sabine, Sisnce, and sister Makli. His grandparents, his uncles, aunties and cousin.
Any donation you can manage would be greatly appreciated and please continue to pray and send good thoughts for the family.
