Devin L. Beckman

On March 8th, 2024, at 11:28pm, our family lost an amazing soul. Devin Leigh Beckman was only 17 years old when his life ended late that Friday night. His funeral was March 23, 2024, and it was a beautiful service. Now, we need to raise more money in order to buy a headstone and a cemetery plot in which to bury some of his ashes for everyone to have a place to go to visit him. If we raise enough for that, anything left over will be used to help our family reach out and raise awareness and the importance of gun safety, suicide prevention, and drug and alcohol abuse, due to the circumstances of his death. Devin was self-medicating his pain with alcohol, pills, and weed. Based on what we know, our family has come to the conclusion that this was an accidental suicide. We also believe that if he hadn’t been under the influence, this tragic accident would not have occurred. We want Devin’s story to help us inspire as many people as we can, and hopefully save some lives. We want to normalize taking care of our mental health, as well as our physical health. There’s still such a stigma attached to talking about mental health and it’s so important that we take care of ourselves in all ways.
