Devin Matthews & Family

Hello, my name is Hayley and I am a friend of the Matthews family. Devin was involved in a terrible head on collision with another vehicle on Monday, March 11th around 7:40pm in Alpena. Devin is currently in critical, but stable condition at Hurley in Flint. He has sustained many injuries including a broken foot, broken face, a small ballon on his heart, the aortic artery in his neck is damaged, the small upper intestine was damaged and required surgery for repair. The surgery for the upper intestine took place on Tuesday March 12th. Devin is currently on a ventilator to keep his blood pressure stable due to the balloon on his heart. Unfortunately, Devin is facing many more surgeries. He will undergo surgery on Thursday March 14th to have a Trach placed and a facial reconstructive surgery on Saturday March 16th. Devin’s jaw will have to be wired shut to allow the face to heal.

Any monetary donations will be sent directly to John and Leslie Matthews to help with bills, travel expenses, and any medical bills that may be acquired during this long journey to get Devin back to health.
