A fatal car accident was reported on August 29th, 2022 at 3:40 am in Jonesborro at I-555 South near Bay exit. Husband, father, son, and friend of many - Devin William Dicus - had gotten into a car accident with one car driving on the wrong side of the road hitting him head-on, and another vehicle from behind rear-ending him. He was on his way to work that morning at Tiger Correctional, but never made it. His supervisor had called his wife, Kathleen Dicus, to check on Devin's whereabouts. Kathleen had pinged his phone to find his phone located at Arkansas State Police and a state trooper informed her of the devastating news. He was only 35 years old. Devin and Kathleen had been together for 17 years, happily married for 11 years, and they have a wonderful and beautiful 9-year-old daughter, Emma.
He graduated from Danville Community High School in Danville, IN, and from Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, IN, majoring in Culinary Arts. He loves creating new dishes, playing the drums and guitar, and has an encyclopedia of knowledge at mind.
The best girl dad taught Emma how to draw, contributing to her creativity. Mornings filled with delicious breakfast after being woken up by his little girl. Weekends filled with building legos, hanging out, and dancing. Christmas looked forward to daddy-daughter baking time where all the cookie cutters in the bag were used. His acquired attention and indefinite love will continue to be carried with Emma.
Love is filled with its ups and downs, but topped off with morning coffees, unbearably funny inside jokes, lots of laughter, hugs that felt at home, and sweet kisses. Comedy never stopped at inside jokes, but flourished to stand-up with his wife as his muse. The house would light up with entertainment with a two-person band - Kathleen on drums and Devin rocking the tunes on guitar. Forever in our hearts and memories, the comedy will never die, and the jamming tunes will forever thrive.
This modern renaissance man with many talents truly enjoyed taking care of his family and house. This tragic accident has brought a lot of devastation to loved ones. Thank you for showing your unconditional care, support, and love.
Please keep Kathleen, Emma, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers.
