Support Former Evolved Body Art Shop Staff in Crisis
Donation protected
On April 4, 2025, the whistle was blown by a brave individual who had experienced enough of all the problematic behaviors occurring at Evolved Body Art Shop and other related events and businesses.
I will attach the linktree created that will bring you to all statements made on both sides, as well as hundreds of testimonies that are continuing to come in daily. These testimonies include but are not limited to experiences of harassment, invalidation/dismissal of assaults, full blown assault, and exploitation. I urge you to take the time to read the pain, fear and suffering these people have gone through for an extended period of time after being abused, exploited and exposed to an unsafe and hostile work environment by someone who should have been their protector.
Over 20 staff and counting have walked out on Evolved Body Art Shop and could use the help of our community to help get them back on their feet. The vast majority of the brave individuals who stood in solidarity with their brave whistle blower, colleague and admirable friend did so with no where to go, no income, no back up plan, no savings, no support, no severance packages - nothing.
It took about a week for this business to do anything productive to allow time for rest and recovery, but at this point, so much damage has been done and so many people left and missed the opportunity to have one week’s pay.
These are the people who made Evolved Body Art what it was when it was loved by our community. These are the people that provided you safe and positive experiences. These are the people that helped you express yourself and build your confidence through their passion of body art.
It takes immense courage to stand up, speak out and take action, especially unexpectedly with no plans. This was done not only for the safety and healing of themselves, but they put their careers and livelihoods on the line to keep us, former and future clients, safe.
Please refer to the linktree to see all ways you can help. Let’s show these victims what community truly means and commend their bravery and strength during these trying times. The linktree will be regularly updated. Even if you are not in a position to donate, simply sharing their story will help spread awareness in this situation, and I have faith this fundraiser will get into the right hands so that these victims don’t have to worry about securing housing or their next meal or how they can start fresh at this point in their career while going through extreme emotional turmoil. Sharing, commenting and reacting goes a LONG way!!
To view the victims’ official statement, there is an audio version listed in the linktree, as well as visual/readable version.
Please reach out to me directly through this platform so we can get connected if there are things you’d like to share, such as resources, connections to help.
Thank you all for your unwavering support. No words could ever adequately explain how meaningful your actions are.
For transparency, Luka Weinberger will be managing funds, which will be distributed to the victims that walked out and suffering major income loss and no where to immediately go. Most staff members have been living paycheck to paycheck, so this period of no income will hit very hard, very fast. Funds will be prioritized to these individuals. They plan to communicate as a team and make unanimous decisions in this process. Funds will be distributed for things such as rent, utilities and other basic bills, groceries, and hopefully investing in the future of their careers if we are successful with this. Some of the people who have quit are abusers. Keep in mind, they were not fired - they quit of their own volition to avoid ownership of their actions. We know who they are, we know that they are attempting to save face to the public, and they will not be receiving any of these funds.
