What started off as being the happiest day of Devon and Savannah’s life has ended as one of the most tragic. About an hour before the wedding ceremony was scheduled to start they received a call from the fire department informing them that their house had caught fire and that they’re 3 dogs and 2 cats needed to be picked up. In an attempt to salvage the day we sent two family members to pick up and check out all of the animals and relocate them and continue with the ceremony. This was before we really knew extent of all of the damage.
During the celebration they were able to find a hotel to stay in for the night that allowed them to keep their 3 dogs with them (the two cats were going to stay with a family member). After celebrating their marriage, they went and picked up the animals to go stay at the hotel. It turns out that their house was completely consumed by the fire and all animals were in the house for an extended time before the windows and doors blew out. Unfortunately this exposed them to smoke and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Upon reuniting with their animals they realized that one of the dogs was not well. They tried moving her but she collapsed and started bleeding from her mouth and nose. They took her to the emergency vet but unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. ON THEIR WEDDING DAY.
So what should have been the happiest day of their lives they have lost everything that they own. They lost one of pets. Everything. They do not have renters insurance so everything that they have to replace will be out of pocket. This includes medical bills for the animals.
Anything that you can give will help. We got them some necessities to get them through a couple days but not nearly enough. They need clothes, toiletries, shoes…everything. If you can’t donate please share. Even words of encouragement…just anything to help them get through this horrible situation.
