Devon's YWAM Singapore DTS

If you don’t know me, my name is Devon Fay, and I am extremely adventurous. I do everything to the fullest, whether it be sports, traveling, cooking, or fulfilling God’s calling on my life. With that said, I am thrilled to share with you an exciting chapter I'm about to embark on: my journey with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Singapore for their Discipleship Training School (DTS)! This is an incredible opportunity to grow spiritually, serving God and people, and blessing the people of the nations both near and far. Going through this YWAM program will shape the rest of my adulthood and help me follow after God's call on my life.

For those unfamiliar, YWAM is a global movement dedicated to equipping individuals to spread the love of Jesus and serve those in need worldwide. The DTS program is designed to provide intensive training in character development, missions, and practical outreach experiences.

YWAM has two phases in the DTS: Lecture phase and Outreach Phase. Lecture phase will take place in Geylang, Singapore at the YWAM base. This is where I will be taking classes, spending countless hours each week in community, building my faith, and partaking in local outreach sharing the love of Jesus to the people of Singapore. These three months will prepare us mentally and spiritually for the second phase.

The outreach phase. For almost three months we will be in an undetermined location in the 10/40 window doing global outreach by spreading the Good News to some of the most unreached and closed off people groups in the world. This is where I will put into action what I learned in the lecture phase. Traveling and witnessing to such a place and getting to use my gifting's will give me real world experience for the future to wherever God will call me.

As I prepare for this life-changing adventure, I'm reaching out to you for support. Participating in the DTS program requires covering tuition fees, accommodation, meals, travel expenses for outreach, and other essential costs. While I'm diligently saving and exploring other avenues of funding, I recognize the significance of community support in making this journey possible.

As YWAM is very expensive and I will not be able to have a job while attending, I will be raising money in three different phases. Phase I will be $4,500 and consists of paying for my six month student visa, the lecture phase, and my plane ticket to Singapore. Phase II will pay for my outreach phase which could be anywhere from $1,900 - $4,900, unfortunately I will not find out until my second week in Singapore. Phase III will cover monthly expenses such as: food, international phone plan, and anything else I may need to pay for while I am away.

Anything you can give is enough. Even a dollar. I know God takes things and multiplies it according to our faith. Your generosity will alleviate financial burdens, allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on learning, growing, and serving others.
