Support for Devonte Merrick & Family

Hi, my name is Jodi Dirks and our daughter's best bud Devonte is dealing with the loss of his mom. His Mom recently passed away leaving his grandmother to care for him and his siblings. Devonte has always been a light in the community and at DHS-particularly in the music department. A few years ago, his family dealt with losing their apartment and all of their belongings due to an apartment fire in one of the apartments adjacent to theirs. After getting back on their feet, Devonte persevered and got accepted into St. Olaf college and is a music education major there and about to student teach this spring. He's a wonderful young man who needs our help. His Grandmother will be the primary caregiver and provider for him and his younger siblings. They could really use our help with funeral expenses and the expenses that come with raising a family (basic needs & education). Please consider giving-every little bit helps. We'd love to be able to have the funeral expenses covered and beyond that. I am also adding a meal train link below if anyone would desire to provide meals.
