The Hurricane and the Tornado
Donation protected
Nine years ago I was diagnosed with leukemia. I was successfully treated with a bone marrow transplant but I was left disabled and with a lot of time on my hands. So my wife and I downsized and purchased a motor home and began travelling. One of our favorite destinations was the home of our five year old grandson. We arrived at his house here in Chesapeake last week. Early Friday (11/1) morning our home was crushed by a huge oak tree that was blown over by an EF1 tornado in the Hickory area of Chesapeake. We are now homeless. Our Toyota Camry was also totalled. To make matters worse we owe a lot more on the rv than insurance will pay for. We are going to be left deeply in debt.
Our motorhome was a 2013 Thor Hurricane 32A. We are very grateful for the time we had the vehicle which afforded us the opportunity to visit our three beautiful grandchildren in Virginia and Indiana, our kids and their spouses and pets and my extended family in Pennsylvania. Also, we are very thankful to simply be alive today.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
