Jung Family Lahaina Fires Lost home
Donation protected
Ryan, his wife Ivanna (Ivie), and their son Kauan recently returned to their beloved hometown of Lahaina, Maui. Their arrival was met with anticipation and excitement as they embarked on a new chapter of their lives. However, fate had a different plan in store for them. Just one week after settling back into Lahaina, a devastating fire swept through their town, obliterating their home and all their cherished possessions.
Before the fire, they were living with Ryan's mom Carol, a longstanding member of the West Maui community. Carol's home, where they were renovating an apartment, was a symbol of hope and a place they intended to call their own. With $50,000 of investments in materials, appliances, and labor, their dreams were taking shape. Tragically, everything was lost in the fire. Insurance cannot reimburse them since they didn't own the home and the renovations were unfinished.
Currently residing in temporary housing in Wailuku, the family is faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. Ryan, who used to teach surf lessons in Lahaina, now finds himself searching for new employment opportunities. The road ahead is uncertain, but they remain resilient and hopeful.
The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is to provide immediate assistance to the Jung family. Donations will directly contribute to meeting their pressing needs, such as rent, utilities, food, insurance, and transportation. Your support and prayers for our Maui Ohana are greatly appreciated as they navigate through this challenging time.
