Dexter’s Birth

Hello, my name is Kailey Blakely. I’m starting a fundraiser for my son and family.

Matthew Marcotte and I, recently found out our son is going to need surgery once he is born. Our son has a narrowing in his intestinal track. The medical term for this is Duodenal Atresia.They we’re unable to detect this till later in my pregnancy until about my third trimester. We found out he had this condition since I have a rare condition during my pregnancy called polyhydraminos. This means there is too much fluid during my pregnancy. Dexter is producing too much fluid since he can not process the fluid properly due to the the intestinal narrowing.

This means the baby will be delivered at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. He will have to live on the NICU in Indianapolis at Riley hospital for up to a month. I am also going to be induced at 37 weeks which only gives us 7 weeks until his arrival. I can also go into to labor early due to my polyhydraminos. This makes my pregnancy high risk for preterm labor. I can not be around Dexter for 48 hours after labor since he has to remain on the NICU for monitoring.

We did not financially plan for this. We have three other children to take care of so Matthew will have to drive back up to try to spend weekends with me so the kids can see still see me. I will stay with Dexter in Indianapolis until he is able to come home with us. We are asking for help with gas, hotel cost, food costs, and diapers. There is some resources for us such as Ronald McDonald’s house but there is a waiting list and there is not guaranteed spots. We appreciate any help anyone can donate. We would never ask for help unless we need it. This is our first go fund me I’ve made. Matthew works in the RV industry and they’ve cut his pay in half. I am also unable to work as much due to my condition and the extra doctor appointments for monitoring which makes it difficult to save when we still have to our normal bills and support our other three children.

We hope for a healthy recovery for our baby boy Dexter. We again appreciate any help. We just could not plan for this finically with such short notice. We want to try to be together as much as we can as and make this normal as possible for our other children.
