Dexter's happy ever after

This beautiful boy honestly has been dealt the worst cards going.

4 months ago I adopted Dexter from a dog rescue based on an advert put up for him which had explained he was a 3 year old Frenchie who had been used for constant breeding and was neglected in a concrete cage outside only to be taken out when he was required for breeding. I was touched by his story and put in an application to adopt him.

Everything from there went downhill.

Not only did they accidentally advertise the wrong dog in his album After I adopted him he then arrived with undisclosed health issues such as

.spinal curvature

. Head tilt

.dental disease (I've done his operation for this)

. Untreated eye abscess (I've done his op for this)

Hes 8 years not the 3 he was stated to be.

With all of thes medical problems this meant pet insurance was absolutely out of the question.

And now he is on day 4 of his stay at the vets fighting for his life with untreated heartworms from the place I rescued him from. He currently has fluid on the lungs, trouble breathing so is on and off oxygen, blood in his stools and sickness. He needs to be reffered from his current vets to a specialist to treat the worms and symptoms his estimated bill is approx £3000 for his next treatment.

The rescue's response to this is to go behind my back and ring the vets requesting he be returned to them to continue treatment themselves.

This is absolutely the last thing I'd want for him, he's so beyond loved here

He is genuinely the most amazing and loving dog I've ever encountered and everyone who's met him would say the same.

Regardless of people's personal opinions on foreign dogs, we only ever set out to help a dog who needed love. We never expected to be done so wrong by a rescue, but the main priority is Dexter and helping him.
