Bring Trish Johnson Home: Urgent Medical Aid Needed

**Urgent Help Needed for My Mom's Medical Emergency**

On December 15th my mom was struck by a motorcyclist while crossing the street near her rental home in Costa Rica. Trish Johnson suffered severe brain bleeds on both sides of her head, requiring emergency surgeries over the last 72 hours. The combination of corticotomy, cranioplasty, duroplasty, partial lobectomy, and hematoma drainage has been taxing on her body. We are so grateful to the doctors who removed a massive clot that would have otherwise proved fatal.

I am currently by her side in the ICU, anxiously waiting for her condition to stabilize enough to safely transport her back to the USA for further care. We are raising funds to cover her increasing medical needs in Costa Rica, where Medicare denies coverage and her international emergency medical insurance has limitations. In Costa Rica, medical costs need to be paid upfront, and we are facing an urgent need for funds to keep her safe in the ICU until Trish is stable enough to air ambulance back home to the USA.

My mom is a beautiful soul who has generously supported me and my brother Patrick throughout our lives. She was days away from flying home to Minnesota to be with Patrick and his wife Danika to celebrate Christmas. She's been a generous caretaker all her life with family, friends, climbing athletes, animal shelters, and more. When the motorcycle hit her in the street, she was returning from a volunteer shift at a Christmas event for underprivileged children. She is the most vibrant and full-of-life person in my life, and though she has a long road of recovery ahead of her, that will never change.
