Rylan's surgery was a success! She spent a fourth (and we hope final) night at the hospital. Please keep your fingers crossed that Rylan's recovery goes smoothly. Kayla and Rylan have a long road to recovery ahead that will require around the clock care from Kayla.

Rylan has her amputation surgery TODAY! Thanks to almost 72 hours of IV antibiotics, Rylan's infection is under control. Amputating Rylan's remaining hind leg will not just save her life: her surgeon is confident that with Kayla's dedication and support, Rylan will have a high quality of life. Please keep Rylan in your thoughts!

Rylan was seen by the Orthopedic Specialist + Surgeon late this morning. After assessing her infection, Rylan's surgeon is confident that amputation of the left hind leg will save her life. Kayla was able to visit Rylan tonight and brought her leftovers from Thanksgiving!

Rylan made it through the night! She is much more comfortable today thanks to a course of antibiotics, fluids, and pain medication. She meets with the Orthopedic Specialist + Surgeon later this morning. The office is backed up due to the holiday and has not given us any receipts yet. Once we have receipts to share, they will all be posted here!

My name is Sophie, and I am raising funds for my friend Kayla and her beloved dog, Rylan.

Rylan is currently in emergency intensive care. In a time when so many are struggling financially, Kayla and Rylan need your help. We can't all do it alone, but when we come together, we can do so much. Rylan only has one back leg, and her remaining leg suddenly and severely developed an infectious virus this week. Rylan is receiving intravenous antibiotics, pain medication, and fluids to get the aggressive infection under control. She will remain at the hospital until tomorrow morning when she can be assessed by the orthopedic specialist + surgeon. Rylan's estimated bill for 48 hours (Wednesday, November 22 - Friday, November 24) of care is $6,000.

Kayla is an active member of our community and extends herself to help others, both animal and human, whenever she can. She has a house of misfits like Rylan, always opening her home and heart to special needs animals. Please help us help her now when she needs it most.

So many people are struggling financially these days, and Kayla is living paycheck to paycheck. She has given Rylan and big, beautiful life filled with everything she needs, but was not prepared for this sudden and very serious emergency. Kayla and Rylan really need your help.

Kayla has provided Rylan with everything she needed to live comfortably and carefree life... even when that meant pushing her in around in baby carriage when she got tired. Rylan especially loves cuddling up with her best dog friend, Reese, and swimming! She lives a big, beautiful, full life and a contagious, joyful energy that can't help but make you smile.

Rylan is in the ICU this Thanksgiving.
