DFW Student Coalition for Justice
Donation protected
The Black Lives Matter movement was established following the murder of Trayvon Martin in 2012. The current protests have strengthened this movement, calling for action in response to racism, police brutality, white privilege, and institutionalized racism. As student leaders, we stand in solidarity to demand equality and justice for Black people everywhere.
In this moment, we have the opportunity to rally together and achieve a positive change. As such, the Student Governments and student organizations of Southern Methodist University, Paul Quinn College , University of North Texas, Texas Woman's University and three other DFW universities have come together to create the DFW Student Coalition for Justice.
Members of this coalition have established this fundraiser. All donations will be equally distributed to the following charities:
- The Equal Justice Initiative
- The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund
-For Oak Cliff
I am apart of a student organization at Southern Methodist University called the SMU Student Senate. The money will be transferred from GoFundMe to the SMU Account once the fundraiser is finished. Once transferred, the funds will be split amongst the 3 organizations.
