Omar needs your Help

Dear Humanity,

My name is Mohammed and I'm an international student in Germany. I'm reaching out on behalf of my little brother to his friends and loved ones around the world and other people who care to help. Omar, who recently began his bachelor’s degree in computer science. Omar, an exchange student in the Yes program during 2019/2020, has always shared his ambitious dreams of pursuing education and building a successful career.

Since October 7th, our neighborhood has been heavily affected by the war, prompting my parents to evacuate to what they thought was a safe place. Unfortunately, the second location also proved unsafe, and they had to relocate once more, this time to the south of the Gaza Strip, where safety remains a concern. And yet again safety is questionable and they are facing the lack of food, water, and other essential goods.

In these times of urgent need, my family, consisting of four members, including Omar, is facing unimaginable circumstances. We are earnestly seeking your support to help evacuate them to safety.

I've initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising €30,910 to facilitate my family's evacuation to Egypt. Here's a breakdown of how the funds will be utilized:

Immediate Support (€4,000): This portion provides immediate assistance for my family's journey to safety, covering essential needs such as accommodation, food, and other necessities.

Permits and Crossing Fees (€28,000): The majority of the funds, totaling €28,000, are crucial for covering expenses related to obtaining permits to leave Gaza and the crossing fees required at the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah. This amount breaks down to €7,000 per person, including my parents and two siblings.

Transaction Fees (€897.64): This portion is allocated to cover the GoFundMe transaction fees, including 2.9% plus €0.25 per donation.

Your support will have a significant impact on the safety and well-being of my family. No matter how small, every donation will contribute to ensuring that my family is in a secure environment. The funds raised will be used transparently and efficiently, ensuring that every cent goes toward securing their evacuation.
