Lilly's Road to Recovery

My name is Sasha, I am Lilly's aunt and Godmother. Recently my niece was diagnosed with an Optic Glioma Tumour that is intertwined with her optic nerve and has gradually caused her to lose vision in her left eye. Lilly is just 3 years old.

For the last year, Lilly's parents have been advocating for her to see a specialist as they noticed some abnormal behaviors' in her eye, additionally she was bumping into things often. Unfortunately, this slow progressing tumour has been gradually growing and suffocating her optic nerves causing gradual vision loss. Potentially, they could have acted sooner, but due to the lack of urgency from Lilly's family doctor, the tumour has progressed far enough that her vision will most likely never be restored.

Lilly has recently undergone a procedure to extract a sample of the tumour in her brain to see what the tumour is made of, these results will be made available in the coming weeks. As the team of doctors know now, is that Lilly has a long road ahead of her and her treatment plan could be anywhere from 1 year to the rest of her life, as this tumour cannot be surgically removed, as it would result in complete vision loss, cognitive and behavioral side effects that would significantly reduce her quality of life.

We are looking to raise money to help Lilly & her parents take the needed time off work without the added stress of being able to purchase groceries, and any potential costs for medication she will require.
