These are just some of the many words to describe the sport that is not only an outlet for these athletes, but words that define gymnasts and all that the sport gives to them.
Recently, STARS Gymnastics was forced to shut their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a very sad day for the gymnasts who love this gym not only for the gymnastics but also for the family that it creates. With STARS being closed, the gym is no longer able to bring in any income. Being a small business that depends on human participation to run, how are the owners to pay salaries, rent, electricity, insurance, water and other such bills that continue to be due despite the indefinite closure of the gym?
For many of our girls who are used to spending 5 days a week at the gym, this time away has been like torture for them. STARS Gymnastics is their other home and they feel incomplete without all they get from their time spent there. They miss their other family! What has been their only solace is knowing that this is temporary and that at some point it will end. They are all dreaming of the day they can return to practice and see their friends and coaches again!!!
But, depending how long the closure lasts, that may not happen. Even if able to reopen, numbers will be limited and activities with larger numbers, like recreation classes and summer camp, will look very different, if even able to resume at all. If closed or operating on small numbers too long, it may get to a point that our gym owners are not able to dig out of the financial hole created due to this pandemic and be forced to close forever.
This is where we all come in…we need to help to keep STARS Gymnastics alive! Please join our gymnasts as they work to SAVE STARS GYMNASTICS by completing 100 consecutive cartwheels.
I know we are all struggling financially due to the Coronavirus, but please consider donating any amount you can. If we all donate a little, it adds up to a lot! Our gym and coaches need our help. They have done so much for our girls, so now is the time for us to do something for them and DONATE!!! All donations will go to STARS Gymnastics to help them to overcome the devastating effects of the Coronavirus closure.
Thank you for your support during this challenging time and with all of us working together, STARS Gymnastics will excel and be stronger than ever!
