Help Dhabia find her Best Life
,
There is a terrible crisis in animal welfare throughout the Middle East. This is due to several factors, including over breeding, and the high rates of pet dumping and abandonment. On top of this many people do not believe in desexing animals. There are no formal animal welfare services charities. This means that the stray animal population grows.
Fayzah works at a vet clinic. She is simply one of the best people I know. I have been helping Fayzah for seven years, getting animals on flights and working with rescue centers in Canada , US and Europe . We are both aware that sending animals overseas is not the answer, and Fayzah does everything she can to educate the community about desexing and responsible pet ownership. Many of the animals that she has rescued are rehomed locally, but it is extremely difficult to find reliable committed homes in the region. Given that I am now leaving the Kingdom, I want to do all I can to help her before my final departure.
Fayzah found this beautiful female dog wandering in the streets. She named her Dhabia. She is very a very affectionate and well socialized doggy. It is obvious she belonged to somebody once. She is a local breed dog. Local breed dogs are often considered to be more vermin than pets , and therefore extremely difficult to rehome in the region . Many of these dogs get shot or poisoned. In general they live miserable lives. Fayzah has paid to have her spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Fayzah can not keep Dhabia or the other five rescue cats she is currently looking after indefinitely She wants to send the animals to Canada. She has already sent out many animals but does not have the funds to do so, alone.
How Can You Help?
Due to a lack of flight buddies, we need to raise 20,000 SAR (£4,000), which is what it costs to fly these lost souls across the Atlantic, where they will be put up for adoption in Calgary and Vancouver.
Their only other option is euthanasia or releasing them on the mean streets of Khobar.
Can you find it in your heart (or wallet) to help them? Anything you can afford, no matter how small, will help give these helpless animals the chance of a better life.
We are up against it, timewise, and need to get them out before the end of May, so please don’t delay, and send whatever you can afford.
The animals will be eternally grateful, and you will feel much better for having helped them.
