Help Sylvester the Cat

Hello! My mom and I own a beautiful tuxedo cat, and his name is rightfully Sylvester. We took him in from the streets when he was 8 months old.
Sylvester is the most well-mannered cat you will meet. He is calm and affectionate. He greets our friends & family when they come over, and his veterinarians always enjoy handling him because he is the perfect patient.
For a week and a half now, Sylvester has lost his appetite. He has been frequently vomiting either bile (because he is unable to eat) or the little bit of food that he tries to down. He lost weight, and we thought it was just old age because he passed all of his assessments the last time he visited a veterinarian in Nov 2021 and was actually scheduled for a dental cleaning this month. We brought him to a local vet clinic yesterday, January 12th, for a quick check-up, and we found out that he has a mass near his bladder with x-rays.
Under many recommendations, we decided to hospitalize Sylvester today, January 13th, so that he could get his much needed fluids. He is scheduled to have an ultrasound and an aspiration procedure to further analyze his mass so that we could get actual treatment options. Treatment, alone, is estimated to be $4000-$5000, and this doesn’t include his consultation & emergency fees nor does it include the ultrasound, x-rays, etc. which are an additional $3000 (already paid for).
Sylvester is 12 years old. Other than a tooth extraction, he has never experienced major medical issues. Sylvester was very healthy. He still passes all of his blood tests today. Therefore, we truly believe he has a fighting chance — even with old age. The vets believe this mass is obstructing organs that is causing him to vomit and lower his appetite. They foresee that it will either be chemotherapy or surgery that will solve his problem, depending on the mass, and that is what we would like to ask help for.
We would appreciate any help that we could get.
