I am proud to announce that l have been selected to play in the 2016 U19 FIL World Cup Championship in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada in July 2016
The Australian team completes in the World Championships held every 4 years and receives no government funding. This creates a heavy financial burden on players like myself, who have the honour of representing their country on the world stage. Like many of my team mates, I am in year twelve. It is extremely hard to balance the study requirements of the most important school year of my life with training up to 4 times a week to follow my Australian dream.
Over the last two years, l have taken part in a rigorous selection process that has included numerous training sessions, interstate camps and National championships, which all up have cost several thousands of dollars.
Through this GoFUNDMe account l am hoping that l know enough generous people who are willing to make the financial burden of representing my country a little easier.
