Fighting Rare Brain Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Hunter Rothell, and I’ve been a police officer for the past six years. I live in Orlando, Florida with my two young kids, Aiden and Savannah, and my beautiful wife, Mari.

This past July, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer called gliosarcoma. I have found that even with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, most people with this type of cancer pass away a little over a year after diagnosis.

Thankfully, and with the grace of God, my doctor has placed me in a clinical trial which has the potential keep me alive long enough to see my kids grow up.

That being said, my insurance only covers some of the costs associated with my treatment, and will not pay for the clinical trials that could help me survive.

As I write this, my medical costs continue to grow. While I am currently able to work in a light-duty setting with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, I am unable to work overtime or off-duty, which our income is largely dependent upon. With doctor’s appointments, treatment, and recovery, the time I am able to work is even further limited.

My family would greatly appreciate any donation you can make. Even a little would go a long way towards keeping my medical costs down, and that added financial stress out of the treatment process.

Thank you,

Hunter Rothell
