Diana Narvaez' Funeral Services & Medical Expenses

Our beautiful sister Diana Narvaez (Obituary) (Video ) gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, April 27th after a hard and courageous battle with cancer. We anticipated that Diana would recover slowly from her surgery on April 5th, but she suffered an unforeseen medical emergency and required a second surgery from which she was not able to recover. But the heartbreak doesn't end there.

Tragically, Diana's husband, Ray, suffered a stroke and brain bleed while in the hospital waiting room just a few days prior to Diana's passing. They were both on the same floor at opposite ends of the unit. Ray remains in the hospital and is making some progress but is still in the ICU.

Our family is devastated. Sal, Roman and Ryan (their sons) have been trying to manage funeral arrangements while still caring for Ray who remains in ICU. The boys are beside themselves with grief and overwhelmed with concern over Ray and the mounting medical and living expenses. As a family, we decided to humbly ask the community for help on behalf of Roman and Ryan.

Those who knew Diana, know that she was the first person to volunteer to help someone in need. There have been so many testimonials that we have heard in recent days about how Diana touched lives and families with her loving and generous spirit. She was a friend, a sister, a mother figure and a mentor to so many. Diana spent over 30+ years working for CCISD. She loved working with the students and encouraging them to pursue their dreams through education. She worked tirelessly with at-risk students and provided whatever she could to bring some measure of comfort and normalcy to their lives; sometimes that meant helping them with food, clothing, a stern talking to, or an uplifting talk and a hug. Her dream was to see every student succeed and she tried her best to support all the children and teens she knew at school and at church.

Diana and Ray were involved in the youth group at SSCM Catholic Church for many years. They also founded the C.O.O.K.I.E.S. (Christians.Offering.Others.Kindness.In.Edible.Sweets) Project and every Christmas she gathered donated baked goods, toys, and clothing and donated them to children in the Coastal Bend. Diana was a selfless woman with a servant heart.

Sissy Diana loved God and served others as Jesus did, but she did it with a loud voice, the highest heels she could manage, and the sparkliest nails. She gave with her whole heart and colorful soul, our beautiful sissy.

She was humble and rarely asked for help, even in dire circumstances. So we hesitated to create this account; however, the boys are struggling so we ask that if you are able to help, regardless of the amount, please know that we appreciate you so much. If you prefer to provide assistance in the form of gift cards or other resources, please reach out to Ryan Narvaez at [phone redacted]

Thank you for your time in reading this and for your assistance and prayers. We need continuous prayers for Ray and the boys. Thank you and God Bless you and your loved ones.
