Diana Soucy: Devoted Mother, Daughter and Friend.
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Rachael. I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my family. My mother Diana, over the last 4-5 months, developed a type of fatty liver disease. She was uncomfortable and struggling for a long time. There isn’t much cure for such a disease. Rather abruptly, her condition got much worse. It then turned into cirrhosis of the liver and ultimately her liver failed her. As a family, we made the impossible choice to end her suffering and let her rest and be at peace, as she was not going to get better.
If you knew my mom, you knew that she was… stubborn and opinionated and direct. You also knew she was intensely devoted to her children; my brother Justin and me. She also leaves behind her mother, Dorothea. Her love for family, friends, and her animals met no end. She was hilarious and smart and very generous. Even when she had nothing to give… she would find a way to make people feel at home, she would find a way to make someone feel like family if they didn’t have a family or felt lonely.
I’m trying to keep this message short and sweet but it’s hard when someone so special is taken from our lives.
As mentioned, Diana’s death was extremely unexpected and untimely. She has departed from us with no last will and testament or a plan. As some of you may know, she struggled her whole life with instability, poverty, and homelessness. It’s not her fault; how could anyone have known this would be the outcome.
We know times are tough for all families, money is very tight so we are not expecting much help if any. However, if you are able and willing, any amount donated toward the cost of everything that needs to happen next for Diana is extremely appreciated. Flowers and kind thoughts are, of course, always welcome and of so much more value than any dollar amount.
Our angel Diana also leaves behind her two cherished cats, Pandora and Buddha. Any monetary donation remaining from her cremation, memorial, and celebration of life would go toward their care. They are both elderly and in need of vet care; when my mom’s health declined, theirs worsened as well.
Again, our family deeply thanks you all for your love, kindness, and support during this difficult and traumatic time.
