Diana's fund for brain surgery
Donation protected
Hey folks,
First off, thanks for checking out my gofundme! I appreciate any help that you can provide.
So, three months ago, I decided to see a neurologist after experiencing numbness, tingling, and decreased fine and gross motor skills in my right arm and hand for an extended period of time. I have also experienced vision changes numbness in my right leg; I lose my balance and bump into things all the time! This past month I was finally diagnosed with a multi-cystic lesion in the left hemisphere of my brain. After seeing multiple neurologists and neurosurgeons, it is evident that I need to receive surgery to remove the lesion.
Unfortunately, my insurance is not cooperating and neither is my bank account. As a student (I was in my last semester of college and forced to take a medical leave) I am unable to take on this responsibility on my own. I still need to receive: multiple tests; a craniotomy; post-operative treatments, such as Occupational and Physical therapy. All money donated will go towards these medical expenses.
If I do not receive treatment from a competent and qualified surgeon, there is risk of paralysis in my right arm/hand as well as permanent and increased numbness/tingling in my entire right hemisphere.
Losing function not only means a more challenging life, physically, but also giving up on my dreams, on my musicianship. I am currently pursuing a degree in Music Therapy with the goal of becoming a board- certified music therapist, and I refuse to give up on this dream.
And so I ask you, as a young woman, only 22 years old, a musician, a sister, a daughter, someone's partner, and as a human being, to help me.
If you were to donate to my cause, it would mean the absolute world to me and my family!
XOXO
Cheers, well wishes and good health to you and your families!
