Diane Elmore Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On October 1st, 2021, Diane went into the hospital to have an elective surgery that did not go as planned. As a result, she spent a month recovering between a hospital and a rehabilitation facility. No sooner was she discharged home that she found herself back at the hospital with a massive infection. Upon being sent to a University hospital to receive the best care, Diane underwent a multitude of surgeries and procedures in hopes to give her the best and most suitable quality of life.
After her discharge from her second stay at a rehabilitation hospital on December 17th, 2021, Diane hoped to regain her strength and get back into a somewhat normal routine. Obviously, normal would not be as she once knew BUT it could be one that she could grow accustomed to. She was able to spend the holidays with her two girls (all that she really wanted), relax and focus on her recovery.
Tragically, in the early morning hours of February 1st, 2022, Diane passed away. She was 66 years old. Diane is survived by her two daughters, Krystyn and Shannon. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Kathleen, Bob, Michael and Matthew Wilcox as well as a large, loving extended family.
Diane (or "Di" to some) lived as an unassuming positive spirit. Her energy and positivity lit up every room she walked into. Working in a career of passion, she spent 40+ years in the fitness industry. Her Jazzercise presence in the Maryland area was large. It was one that she was incredibly proud of- the relationships she built, maintained and loved. Nothing made her prouder than to have made a difference in someone's fitness journey. "Just keep dancing" was her motto.
Her love of plants was one that she inherited from her mother. Ask her the name of any plant/flower, she knew it. The smile that her garden brought her was infectious. Watching the birds that maintained it also brought her tremendous joy. Lady Godiva loved dark chocolate and Cranberry Chutney candles... to go along with her love of La Crema chardonnay. An O'Donnell's trip was always a MUST as long as she could have her crab cakes and rum buns to go with.
It was her love for her family that sustained her. She loved nothing more than spending time with her girls. Skip-Bo and Rummikub tournaments were plentiful. Diane loved to travel- she loved Nashville/Franklin, TN and was hoping to travel there again... she knew there was so much more to see. No matter if she was traveling to a familiar place or adventuring somewhere new, as long as she had a Frappuccino to travel with and a glass of chardonnay to greet her at her destination, she was happy.
