On April 10th, 2020--the day before her 54th birthday--Diane was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in her left breast.
She starts chemotherapy this coming Wednesday, April 29th. Diane will undergo 4 rounds of chemo over an 8 week period. She will have to undergo chemo alone, due to the pandemic.
On July 13th, Diane is scheduled for a mastectomy of her left breast. She will need 8 weeks to recover. She will not have any use of her left arm or hand during her recovery.
During this difficult time, Diane has had to step away from her job due to the risk of infection with COVID 19. It looks unlikely that she will be able to return to work before fall.
In addition to that, an appeal of her disability has interrupted her Medicare insurance. At this time, her total medical bills are in the neighbourhood of $8000. We expect this amount to increase pretty much daily.
On top of medical bills, day to day expenses are hard to meet. Three teenagers and two adults in the household means high grocery and utility bills, especially with the kids home all the time now.
I know everyone is struggling right now. Any amount would be appreciated and will help immensely.
